Meet Katiiti

Meet Katiiti

Katiiti was our first community ever supported! The village of Katiiti is home to more than 1,500 individuals with a surrounding population of more than 2,000. Previously, the community had fetched water from a spring well more than 2 miles from the center of the village. The spring well was located at the bottom of a hill, increasing the likelihood of waterborne illnesses as openly defecated materials would flow down hill during the rainy season. The community no longer uses this water source that had previously been shared with animals because we were able to build the FIRST ever modern solar powered well for a remote community in Uganda here thanks to you all! This solar powered well is able to output more than 10,000 liters of safe clean drinking water every day for the community!
