The Mpegwe well actually serves three surrounding communities. The completion of this well was in partnership Xavier University and in memory of the class of 2022 as each senior walked away with both a diploma and a Ripple bottle on graduation day! The village of Gobero is home to more than 2,500 individuals with a surrounding population of more than 4,000. Previously, the community journeyed more than one mile to fetch water from a hole with an underground spring. This water source had been shared with wild animals. The community no longer uses this stream as a water source thanks to you all because we were able to build them a modern solar powered well! This solar powered well is able to output more than 10,000 liters of safe clean drinking water every day for the community!
